The Ane Keohokalole Highway was a highly anticipated project on the island of Hawaii as it is the first major road built in Kona by the county since statehood. Referred to as “the new backbone of Kona,” the highway extends approximately three miles from Palani Road to Hina Lani Street, and helped to pave the way for new development projects as well as connecting neighborhoods, businesses, schools, and health facilities as part of the Kona Community Development Plan.
