Hilo Medical Center Acute Hospital Expansion Phase 1

Under a contract with the Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (HHSC), East Hawaii Region, the Hilo Medical Center Acute Hospital Expansion Phase 1 project entails the construction of an elevated two-story addition attached to the west side of the Acute Hospital to house the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on the 2nd floor and the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on the 3rd floor. The second floor will house 19 ICU units, while the third floor will accommodate 24 PCU units. This construction involves 50,000-SF of interior space and renovations to the existing structure. The ground floor will see the addition of mechanical/electrical and other utility rooms, alongside renovations to the parking lot to accommodate structural changes.
