Nan, Inc. and its joint venture partners Caddell Construction, Manson Construction, and Samsung Texas Construction (CNMS Joint Venture Team) successfully completed Phases 2, 4, and 5 of the repair and rehabilitation of the historic Building 1102 and Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam. Nan, Inc. also served as the primary subcontractor to Phases 6 and 7.
The overall project brought the 3-story 550,000 square foot, 1941 historic structure up to compliance with life safety codes to include structural, fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, and meeting egress requirements. Repair work also addressed accessibility requirements of the Americans with Disability Act and the Rehabilitation Act for building occupants and visitors. Work included, providing flexible office space to accommodate military units with a variety of missions, widening some access ways, installation of elevators, proper signage, and ensuring restrooms are accessible. Continued use of the facility during construction was required throughout all phases of repair. Each phase was required to be designed and constructed to meet a LEED Silver rating.
