Construction on this project under the State of Hawaii Department of Education (DOE) involves the demolition and removal of the existing gymnasium and portable classroom, construction of a new gymnasium over a new basement parking structure, an addition of 45 new parking stalls, and related site improvements at Roosevelt High School. The new gym will increase in height by about 3 feet from the old gym, originally built in 1939, and include three levels.
